7 debates in a week!

Last week was a jam packed brilliant week at Debate Mate.

Monday: We ran a debate with NOW: Pensions on flexible working as part of the fantastic conference organised by Samantha Gould. Great to be included alongside inspiring speakers on the topic including Anna Whitehouse and Iona Bain.

Tuesday: 4 showcase debates at the London Launch 2019 of our schools programme which saw over 3,500 students attend excited for the programme to begin in their schools. It never gets old watching them scream at the top of their voices to be chosen to make a point from the floor!

Thursday: We were honoured to be asked to put on a showcase debate as part of the WOF Summit organised by the wonderful Pinky Lilani CBE DL We followed Sadiq Khan in the line up and debated the topic, ‘This house believe that empathy is the single competitive advantage that humans have over AI’. Thank you Hajo van Beijma and Jules Chappell OBE who were absolute naturals in the debate!
Next up we ran a debate and skills session at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Our brilliant students debated alongside MDs on the topic ‘this house believes that education is the most important factor in creating a diverse and inclusive work force’.
